Post for Feb. 19

Hello All,

For this post, I want you to list the film you'll be discussing and the archetypes within the film you plan on analyzing.

For example, as you can see by the sample introduction, I would be analyzing the film Sunshine through the archetypes of 1. Regeneration of Time, 2. Divine Models, and 3. Shadow.

    2. Two archetypes within the film are The Symbolism of the Center and The Repetition of Cosmogony.
    3. A few symbols in the film are the yellow brick road, the ruby slipper, broom and fire just to list a few.

    "A Walk to Remember" is the film I will be commenting on. A few archetypes adressed in the film are love, acceptance, and maturity. A couple of symbols are religion (Jaime's faith in Landon for example) and kindness (treating those who do wrong and do good equally).

  3. The film that I will be critiquing is the film "The Book of Eli". Finding new life, the Sun, and water are some of the archetypes that were indicated in this film. One important symbol in this movie is a book which represnts religion. Another is are sunglasses.

  6. The film i will be analyzing is Brave New World through the archtypes of
    1. Symbolism of the Center which in the film are The World State and Conditioning Center
    2. Divine Modes through the characters names: Alpha, beta, delta, gamma.
    3. The Hero which in the film i believe it's John Cooper "the savage".

  8. The film that I will be analyzing is Harry Potter and the Half- Blood Prince. Some of the Archetypes used that I will be focusing on are:
    1.The quest, death, and the task.
    2.Divine models: Harry Potter, Professor
    Dumbledore, and the school of Hogwarts.
    3.Regeneration of time.

    I've considered to analyze the film "August Rush" through archytypes of 1.Symbolism of the Center, which is music. 2.The Genius, August's formal perception of reality and life. 3. Musical instruments, view how different instruments resemble the characters life.

  11. The movie I will be writing my film analysis about is "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe". The archetypes and symbolism I will be discussing include 1. The symbolism of the center 2. Regeneration of time 3. Divine models and 4.The relationship of the plot to the gospel of Jesus.

  12. "I am Legend" is the film I will be analyzing for my film Analysis paper. Some of the archetypes that are used in the film are 1. The symbol of the center- cure for the virus. 2. Divine Models of Rituals- Robert Neville 3. Regeneration of time- had an alarm watch to keep him on track when the dark-seekers will come out. The sun was also part of it.

    I will be anaylyzing Jim Henson's "Labyrinth." I will focus and discuss the humbolism of the center; the road to the center with is the Labyrinth it self, the restoration of primordial chaos, profane vs. sacred time, and regeneration to time. There were also symbols such as the moon, and the white owl.

  16. I will be writing a film analysis of Miyazaki Hayao's "Spirited Away". I will discuss about the supernatural world, the gods/demons/spirits, the rite of passage, and the negative aspects of urbanization. The archetypes I will use to connect my analysis are the symbolism of the center, the regeneration of time, and the divine models of rituals.

    The film that I will be analyzing is Volver by the Spaniard director Pedro Almodóvar.
    I will discuss death, resilience, forgiveness, and the secrets that a women has. The archetypes I will be discussing in order to connect my analysis are the symbolism of the regeneration of time, symbolism of the center, and the divine models of the names in the names of the actresses and the villages in where all the action takes place.

  26. The movie i chose is Coraline.
    The theory, by Eliade, that applies the most to Coraline is his theory of the Regeneration of Time. The three archetypes that seemed the most important in the film were the house as a shadow archetype, the Beldam as a shadow mother, and the moon as Coraline’s grasp on reality.
